P. Manning was born in Shreveport Louisiana with five siblings. Creativity, imagination, and free spirits kept them entertained. P. Manning learned to read before she started school. Reading fairy tales transported her to strange and faraway lands with even stranger characters who gave her imagination the freedom to soar.

She soon realized that songs were simply stories set to music. However, creating stories and characters having to do with children fulfilled her in a way that nothing else could.
